The Create Escape has proudly collaborated with Jan Cornall from Sydney to design this supportive creative writing workshop and holiday in the Byron Shire for you.

Our group will form a small supportive creative 'bubble' that will maintain a best possible Covid safe environment to ensure a relaxed atmosphere.

7 nights, 8 days staying in a luxurious homestead, nestled close to the heart of Byron Bay, and less than a minute walk by native bush track over small sand dunes to pristine Belongil Beach.
  • Take a break and meet some fellow writers and locals 
  • Morning workshops and cocktail hour readings/sharings, including meditative writing exercises and supportive feedback sessions
  • Early morning walks along the beach
  • Be pampered and fed truly delicious local food (daily B, L plus welcome dinner)
  • *Take an optional art class with a local artist.
  • *Take an optional cruise on a River 
You will enjoy your own room with balcony and private entrance. A large studio room with Hampton's style interior featuring a smart TV, coffee machine, mini-fridge and en-suite.
Cove offers a contained, tranquil garden, steam room, sauna, plunge pool and sun-bathing just steps from your room.

About Jan Cornall

Jan Cornall of Writer’s Journey supports writers and creative artists of all genres through the long process of realising their artistic goals, through international writing and creativity workshops, journeys and mentoring services.

Based in Sydney, Jan has been awarded a number of grants and fellowships for her work and has written plays, musicals, screenplays, a novel, a collection of stories and poems and three CDs of songs.

Jan also loves to sketch and make artist books.

With a Master of Arts in Cultural and Creative Practice Jan has taught creative writing for nearly two decades at writer’s centres, community colleges, universities (UTS, WSU) and writer’s festivals in Australia and Asia. Using a technique she has developed called Meditative Writing, Jan takes writers deep into their creative source.

Dedicated to nurturing the unique attributes of each writer, her writing workshops produce startling results. Each year a number of Jan’s first time writers go on to publish with major publishing houses.
