The Team.
At this Writing in Paradise workshop you'll:
- write daily to release and use your imagination to create something memorable and captivating
- be introduced to the power of “free writing”
- learn about the importance of the rewrite and edit
- experience the delight of knowing you can safely work with supportive peers
- be immersed in the writing process with two well-established writing mentors and editors.
You’ll be given considered feedback, support and encouragement in such a way that you’re able to find the magic of the newly imagined … break through with what Hemingway described as the hardest thing about the whole endeavour: ‘Getting the words right’.
The program:
- Mornings: Writing sessions and group classes on elements of the writing craft.
- Lunch: Dine together at the resort/ local restaurant.
- Afternoons: Free time to rest, explore the island, swim, be pampered, read, muse, write.
- Evenings 1: Reconvene at 6.30 for drinks/snacks and dinner.
- Evenings 2: A reading/writing session. We aim to finish around 9.30.
"It was powerful to reverberate with the truth of what others were writing and feel that power in my own words. It was always there. I had just stopped listening." - Kelly McDonald, Bali
"Writing in Paradise gave me confidence. Every morning when I'm procrastinating, I ask myself the same question Shelley asked one morning: ‘If not now, then when?’ And then I start writing." - Q Hermann, Myanmar.
About Ibiza
At the heart of Ibiza, deep below the hedonistic surface, lies an ancient and mystical center: Hidden sun-kissed coves of crystal clear waters, a lush countryside dotted with whitewashed villages, almond and olive trees, orange groves and ancient figs, where traditional village life blends peacefully with the conveniences of the modern world.
A mild Mediterranean climate allows for year-round enjoyment of the island’s natural beauty and unique culture.
About the venue
Our home for this inspiring retreat and vacation is located on the east coast of the island, in the beautiful town of Santa Eulalia. Our house, within a ten minute walk from the town centre is surrounded by immaculately kept, communal gardens with a swimming pool and a view of the sea. The closest beach, Niu Blau, is 500 meters away and can be reached via a stunning coastal path.
